NewsClick raids: Police to question journalist Abhisar Sharma again
NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha and HR head Amit Chakravarty were arrested on Tuesday after several journalists were questioned
Journalist Abhisar Sharma has been summoned by Delhi police to face further questions regarding a case filed under an anti-terror law against NewsClick portal on charges of spreading pro-China propaganda.
Police officials said the Special Cell has called Sharma on Thursday, two days after he was questioned in New Delhi.
NewsClick founder and Editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayastha and HR head Amit Chakravarty were arrested on Tuesday after several journalists were questioned in connection with the case. A court has sent the two to police custody for seven days.
A raid was conducted on Tuesday at 88 locations in Delhi and seven places in other states. A case has been filed under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
A total of 37 male suspects were questioned at the Special Cell’s office. Nine female suspects were quizzed at their places of stay.
