Nobel for Economics: Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James Robinson share the honour

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the 2024 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel to Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James A. Robinson.

Acemoglu and Johnson are professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while Robinson is director of the University of Chicago’s Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts.

This recognition honours their groundbreaking work on how institutions are formed and their profound impact on economic prosperity. The trio's research delves into the political and economic dynamics that shape institutions, offering key insights.
