Billionaire American entrepreneur Elon Musk has asked people not to donate to Wikipedia, an online encyclopaedia, accusing it of being controlled by far-Left activists.

In a post on X owned by him, Musk quoted a US news website as saying that 40 Wikipedia editors have worked to delegitimize Israel and present radical Islamist groups in a favorable light.

Pirate Wires’ allegation

Pirate Wires also accused the editors of positioning fringe academic views on the Israel-Palestine conflict as mainstream, and this intensified after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 last year.

The Hamas onslaught triggered the horrific Gaza war which shows no signs of ending and which now threatens to envelop the entire region.

Musk, a strong supporter of Republican presidential candidate and former US president Donal Trump, said: "Wikipedia is controlled by far-Left activists. People should stop donating to them."

Wikipedia is pro-Iran?

Pirate Wires accused one of Wikipedia editors of removing the mention of the Hamas' 1988 charter which calls for the killing of Jews and the destruction of Israel.

Wikipedia also appeared to promote the interests of the Iranian government across a number of articles, Pirate Wires said. Iran is the strongest backer of the Hamas.
