Israel warns Iran: ‘We will hit very, very hard; we will hit places we spared’

The warning came after aggressive posturing by Iran in response to attacks by Israeli fighter jets on military targets in Iran on Oct 26

The Israeli military on Tuesday (October 29) warned Iran that it would hit the Islamic nation “very, very hard” if it made the mistake of attacking Israel again.

Israeli fighter jets attacked military targets in Iran on Saturday (October 26) in retaliation for a major missile attack by Iran against Israel on October 1. Four Iranian soldiers died in the attacks on Saturday, according to Iranian authorities.

Israel and its ally the US have warned Iran against escalating the situation further.

“If Iran makes the mistake and launches another barrage of missiles at Israel, we will once again know how to reach Iran, reach even with capabilities that we did not use this time, and hit very, very hard both the capabilities and places that we spared this time,” Israeli military chief Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said on Tuesday according to a report by NDTV.

Israel’s military head said that certain targets in Iran had not been attacked on Saturday because Israel may be required to attack again.

“This event is not over, we are still in the midst of it,” said Lt General Halevi.

Aggressive posturing by Iran

Israel’s warning came after aggressive posturing by Iran after the Israeli attacks on October 26.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that “Israel had failed to achieve its ominous goals” with its recent strikes on Iranian military sites.

IRGC commander Hossein Salami condemned the Israeli attack, calling it a “miscalculation and sign of helplessness”. He warned Israel that the bitter consequences of its actions would be unimaginable.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei also stated that Teheran would respond using all available tools to counter the aggression.
