Maharashtra polls: Samajwadi Party seeks 12 seats from MVA alliance

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has sought 12 Assembly seats from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra to contest as part of the Opposition alliance in the upcoming elections, its chief Akhilesh Singh Yadav has said.
He told the media in Maharashtra's Dhule district on Saturday (October 19) that the SP had declared candidates on a few seats where it won the last time and also in constituencies where it feels it is strong enough to win.

SP and Maharashtra
The SP, founded by former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, is a constituent of the INDIA bloc at the national level.
In Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray, the Congress, and the Nationalist Congress Party of Shard Pawar are also part of the INDIA bloc.
Assembly elections in Maharashtra will be held on November 20.
