Jharkhand polls: RJD upset over seat-sharing, says ‘all options open’

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday said it was upset by the seat-sharing announced by the JMM and Congress for the Jharkhand Assembly elections and that “all options were open” for it.
RJD spokesman Manoj Jha said the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress had made a unilateral announcement that the RDJ and the Left would together contest 11 of the 81 seats.
Unhappy RJD
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the JMM and Congress would contest the bulk of the 70 seats.
"We express our disappointment over the offer of seats to us. The decision is unilateral," Jha said. “We were not consulted. All options are open to us."

He said the RJD had identified 15 to 18 seats in Jharkhand where it had the potential to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on its own.
RJD’s earlier scorecard
In the last elections, the RJD contested seven seats and finished second in five.
The Jharkhand polls will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20. The votes will be counted on November 23.
