NDA will form govt in Odisha, AP, says Amit Shah
The BJP will emerge as the biggest party in overall Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha, says the Home Minister
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win the most number of Lok Sabha seats from Southern and Eastern India in the next elections.
Shah told NDTV that the BJP will win 24-30 Lok Sabha seats out of 42 in Trinamool-ruled West Bengal, 17 out of 21 in BJD-governed Odisha and 10 out of 17 seats in Congress-ruled Telangana.
The BJP was also confident of winning 75 out of 147 Assembly seats in Odisha while the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance will come to power in Andhra Pradesh, he said. Both states held Assembly elections too.
Biggest party
The BJP will emerge as the biggest party in overall Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha, Shah claimed. “This is certain,” he stressed.
He added: “And in the five states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, we will win the biggest party among all states."
The veteran politician went on to claim that the BJP will win more than 400 Lok Sabha seats overall.
Supremely confident
"When we won the 2014 elections under Narendra Modi's leadership on the slogan of absolute majority, many political analysts from Delhi had said this was not possible. But we got absolute majority," he said.
“Then, in 2019, when we gave the slogan of '300 plus', people said it is not possible. People are saying the same this time," Shah pointed out.
Shah’s projections of BJP's performance in the national polls come ahead of the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections due on June 1.
