Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi addressing a rally in Sagwara, Rajasthan, on Friday (November 17).

Saying the BJP does not have a chief ministerial candidate in the Rajasthan Assembly elections, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday asked voters to stay away from issues of religion.

Gandhi also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's frequent trips to the desert state, saying it seems he was hunting for a chief ministerial face for his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"The BJP is a scattered party in Rajasthan and it does not have a face for the chief minister's post,” she told an election rally at Sagwara in Dungarpur district.

“The prime minister is roaming every corner of the state. Sometimes, it seems that he is out to find his chief ministerial face."

The Congress general secretary also asked the voters to be careful if emotions and religion were used to woo their votes.

Hitting out at the Modi government, Gandhi said people across the country were suffering due to inflation.

Voting will be held in Congress-ruled Rajasthan on November 25 to elect a new 200-member Assembly.
