Not anti-Muslim: JD(U)’s Rajiv Ranjan Singh
Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh “Lalan” from the JD(U) said the Bill is not anti-Muslim as being made out by the Opposition. He said this Bill doesn’t govern mosques but properties / institutions, and the government is within its powers to make laws on the matter. He asserted that the Bill’s provisions could not be compared to those laws that govern temples. Amid protests from the Opposition, he added that those talking about religious minorities were behind the massacre of Sikhs in 1984.
