“The Udaipur incident shocked the entire nation. The manner in which the murder was committed is a heinous crime. We took immediate, prompt action and caught both of them, handed over the case to the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and found out overnight those belonging to international organisations. This is a terrorism-related incident,” Gehlot tweeted.

“It is now clear that this is a terror case and not a case of communal violence between communities,” he added.

He also assured that no criminal would be spared. “I want to assure you that no criminal will be spared irrespective of any religion or community,” he said in a tweet.

Gehlot hoped that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is probing the case, takes quick action and justice is delivered soon.

“The cases which have been registered under UAPA in the name of terrorism, after that NIA has taken up the case, now SOG will give full cooperation to them. The scope of NIA is big, national, international, whenever such an incident happens, in the same form of terrorism, it tries in many ways how we reach to the bottom of the case.

“I hope the NIA takes quick action and gets them punished as soon as possible, this is the expectation of the entire state and I understand that the whole country wants it. The anger that has arisen in the hearts about this incident, every citizen wants speedy justice, speedy action and punishment at the earliest,” he tweeted.

Gehlot will meet family members of the victim on Thursday even as the curfew continued in Udaipur.

He will be accompanied by the minister of state for home Rajendra Yadav, chief secretary Usha Sharma, DGP ML Lather and other senior officials, a PTI report said quoting official sources.

At the same time, members of Hindu outfits are planning to take out a rally from Town Hall to the Collectorate in protest against the gruesome murder.

The call of the rally has been given by ‘Sarv Samaj’.

Heavy deployment of police is there in Udaipur for maintaining law and order and two Additional Director Generals, one Deputy IG and other senior officials are camping in the city to monitor the situation.
