Amid the resort politics in Gujarat, after three Congress MLAs tendered resignation, the Grand Old Party has written to the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan, claiming that there had been attempts to topple the Ashok Gehlot-led government in the state, NDTV reported.

The letter, written by Mahesh Joshi, the chief whip of the Rajasthan assembly, alleged that attempts had been made to lure Congress legislators and independents supporting the government with money. It also sought the intervention of the agency in the matter, the report added.

The allegation comes ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections to three seats from Rajasthan that are scheduled for June 19. The BJP, which has 72 legislators in the 200-membered assembly had recently fielded two candidates.

The next day, the Congress shifted several of its legislators to resorts and bungalows near their constituencies to thwart any “poaching” bid, a party leader said. While elections are set to be held for three seats in Gujarat, the Congress’ chances of winning the second seat are fast diminishing.
