10 people killed in Bhiwandi building collapse; PM condoles kin of dead
At least 10 people were killed and around 25 have been rescued from the debris of a three-storeyed building that collapsed in Bhiwandi near Mumbai on Monday (September 21) morning.
Many are still feared trapped in the rubble while efforts are underway to rescue them.
According to reports, the incident occurred at the Patel Compound area in Bhiwandi at around 3.40 am.
Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire department and police have been deployed in rescue work at the site.
Videos put up by ANI, showed NDRF personnel pulling out a child alive from the debris.

The building, which was 40 years old, housed around 20 families.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the family of the deceased persons on Twitter, while praying for a quicky recovery of the injured.
“Saddened by the building collapse in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families. Praying for a quick recovery of those injured. Rescue operations are underway and all possible assistance is being provided to the affected,” he tweeted.
