The shooting for the film was interrupted due to the pandemic and it resumed only on December 14 at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Directed by Siruthai Siva, Annaatthe is a rural entertainer featuring Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh in important roles.
Rajinikanth’s publicist Riaz Ahmed told IndiaToday.in: “Eight crew members have tested Covid-19 positive. It is unclear if Rajinikanth would come back to Chennai or quarantine himself in Hyderabad. Further details are awaited.”

Earlier, the production house had arranged a chartered flight for Rajinikanth, Nayanthara and the crew to reach Hyderabad for the shoot. Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth too had accompanied her father. The superstar’s birthday was celebrated in flight by the in-flight crew members.
