I-T sleuths raid 12 locations in Tamil Nadu

Based on a tip-off, Income-Tax sleuths raided the premises of contractors and financiers at 12 locations across Tamil Nadu on Friday (April 12).

The raid was based on information about the possession of unaccounted cash by a contractor firm, PSK engineering construction company. According to sources, “Raids are happening at three places in Chennai and four places in Namakkal over the suspicion of hoarding cash to distribute it to the voters.”

Similarly, search operation were carried out in the premises of businessmen Akash Baskaran and Sujai Reddy.

A total of 11 premises, including one in Tirunelveli and 10 in Chennai were raided by the I-T sleuths. However, there were no confirmed reports about the volume of cash seizures.
