Malayalam actor Sreejith Ravi arrested for flashing girls
Malayalam actor Sreejith Ravi was arrested on Thursday (July 7) for allegedly flashing two girls in Kerala’s Thrissur district.
The 46-year-old actor was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act by the Thrissur West police.
The arrest came after the parents of the two minors, aged 9 and 14, filed a complaint with the police.
An unidentifiable person, while sitting in a black car at S N Park in the Ayyanthole area of Thrissur, exhibited nudity in front of the children on Monday (July 4), claimed the complainants.
On investigation, CCTV footage revealed that the car belonged to Sreejith. The two children, when shown Sreejith’s picture, identified him as the accused. Subsequently, an FIR was registered against him, and he was taken to court, said the police.
The actor was charged under sections 11 (1) and 12 of the POCSO Act.
Not the first time
In 2016, Sreejith was arrested by the Ottapalam police in Kerala’s Palakkad district. He was charged under the POCSO Act, for flashing at a group of 15 school girls and taking their photographs while he was at it. The actor denied the accusations and was later granted bail.
