Binoy Kodiyeri agrees to paternity test in rape case
Kerala CPI(M) secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Binoy Kodiyeri, who is accused in a rape case in Mumbai, has agreed to undergo a paternity test.
The 33-year-old woman, a former bar dancer, had accused Binoy of sexually abusing her on the pretext of marriage. She had also told the court that she had an eight-year-old son from Binoy.
Binoy, who had refuted the allegations, was charged with rape and cheating. However, he was granted anticipatory bail by a Mumbai court but was asked to appear before the Oshiwara police on Mondays.
Binoy agreed to hand over his blood samples for the DNA test as sought by the Oshiwara police.
Earlier, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had on June 22 said that he or the Left party will not help Binoy in the rape case.
“Allegations against my son Binoy should be examined & the truth should be brought out. Neither my party nor I should be held responsible for this, none of us will help him. Police are investigating the matter, let the investigation continue,” Balakrishnan said.
