Moosewala murder: 19-year-old shooter among two arrested by Delhi police
Two more people have been arrested by the Delhi police in connection with the murder of Congress leader and singer Sidhu Moosewala in Punjab on May 29. With this the total number of arrests has gone up to 16.
The two arrested on Sunday (July 3) have been identified as Ankit Toor and Sachin Choudhary. They were arrested from Kashmergate area of Delhi while boarding a bus. One of the arrested, Ankit Toor, is just 19 years old. The police have recovered two pistols and 19 live cartridges, three police uniforms of the Punjab Police and two mobile handsets.
Sidhu Moosewala, 28, was shot dead on May 29 in Punjab’s Mansa district, a day after the Bhagwant Mann government curtailed his security cover. Moosewala’s cousin and a friend, who were travelling in a Mahindra Thar jeep with him, were also injured in the attack.
The incident was termed a fall out of inter-gang rivalry. A few days later, gangsters Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi took responsibility for the murder. As per police, Brar and Bishnoi had hatched the plot to take revenge for the killing of Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera, who the gangsters believed was killed on the directions of Moosewala.
