Suspect in Sidhu Moose Wala's murder detained in Uttarakhand
A suspect, who is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has claimed responsibility for the murder of 28-year-old Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, was nabbed in Uttarakhand.
According to news reports, who quoted police sources said that the suspect had been hiding among pilgrims participating in the Hemkund Sahib yatra in the mountains, when a joint Punjab and Uttarakhand police team detained him. The suspect, along with five others, have been taken to Punjab.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that he had provided the logistics for Sidhu Moose Wala’s murderers, said a national daily.
Congress leader and popular Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, better known by his stage name, Sidhu Moose Wala was gunned down while he was driving his SUV in Punjab’s Mansa yesterday, a day after his security was scaled down by the state police.

The police said that the singer was shot thirty times with an automatic assault rifle. According to Punjab police chief VK Bhawra, the killing was the result of an inter-gang rivalry. He told reporters that the singer’s manager, Shagunpreet’s name had figured in the murder of a youth Akali leader, Vicky Middukhera, last year. After which, Shagunpreet had fled to Australia.
The singer’s murder seems to be in retaliation to Middukhera’s killing, said the police chief.
Meanwhile, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, who is facing a lot of heat due to the law an announces that he will set up a judicial commission under a sitting judge of Punjab & Haryana HC to probe the killing.
