5 migrants dead, 11 injured as truck overturns near Bhopal
In a late night incident on Saturday (May 9), five migrant labourers died and 11 were injured in Madhya Pradesh when a truck they were travelling in overturned in a village, 200 km away from Bhopal.
In a late night incident on Saturday (May 9), five migrant labourers died and 11 were injured in Madhya Pradesh when a truck they were travelling in overturned in a village, 200 km away from Bhopal.
The group of 20 started their journey from Hyderabad and were headed to Jhansi and a town in Uttar Pradesh in a truck carrying mangoes.
“A total of 18 people were in the truck laden with mangoes. When the truck overturned near Patha village in Narsinghpur, five labourers died and 11 got injured” said Deepak Saxena, District Collector of Narsinghpur.
Officials said that the truck overturned in Narsinghpur.
Dr. Anita Agrawal, Civil Surgeon said, “Two people referred to Jabalpur as one of them had head injury and the other had mandible fracture. Two others are critical and the rest stable”
She added that one of them has cough, cold, and fever since 3 days due to which they’ve conducted COVID-19 sampling for all of them, including the deceased.
The mishap comes two days after 16 migrants were run over by a train in Maharashtra on Friday (May 8).
