6.3-magnitude earthquake rocks parts of north India
Tremors were felt across north India, including New Delhi and the national capital region, after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan on Friday (December 20).
“Earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The earthquake struck at 5.09 pm with its epicenter 250 km from Afghanistan capital Kabul, reports said. Tremors also felt in Pakistan’s Islamabad and Lahore.

In videos posted on social media, a chandelier and ceiling fans were seen swinging due to the earthquake tremors. Other videos showed people coming out on the streets.
