Nitishji endangering lives in haste to inaugurate new projects: Tejashwi Yadav
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday (August 12) hit out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the collapse of the approach path of the newly-inaugurated Bangra Ghat Mahasetu in Gopalganj.
“On one hand, the CM was inaugurating Bangra Ghat Mahasetu in Gopalganj & on the other hand, the approach path to the bridge which costs almost ₹509 crore collapsed. The same path had collapsed 12 days ago also. The CM is in a haste to inaugurate new projects, what if lives were lost in this collapse?” Yadav said while addressing a press conference.
He also shared a video of bulldozers levelling the collapsed pathway.
The pathway to the bridge collapsed hours after the Bihar chief minister inaugurated it on Wednesday through video conferencing.
A month ago Sattarghat Bridge, constructed on Gandak river at a cost of ₹263.47 crore had collapsed a month after its opening.
“This is a common thing. This keeps happening in Nitishji’s rule. I am not saying this, but Nitish Kumar has said the same thing while giving statement on the collapse of the Sattarghat Bridge,” Yadav said.
Stating that the money of the people of Bihar is being spent on corruption, he said the government has been evading question whenever asked about these incidents.
