Why exclude Muslims from CAA? Asks Bengal BJP vice-president Bose
In a riot from within for the BJP, the party’s West Bengal unit vice-president Chandra Kumar Bose has asked why the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) does not include Muslims.
Chandra Kumar Bose, the grandnephew of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, said in a series of tweets that India was open to all religions and communities.
“If #CAA2019 is not related to any religion why are we stating — Hindu, Sikh, Boudha, Christians, Parsis & Jains only! Why not include #Muslims as well? Let’s be transparent… If Muslims are not being persecuted in their home country they would not come, so there’s no harm in including them. However, this is not entirely true – what about Baluch who live in Pakistan & Afghanistan? What about Ahwadiyya in Pakistan?” Bose wrote on Twitter.

If Muslims are not being persecuted in their home country they would not come,so there's no harm in including them. However, this is not entirely true- what about Baluch who live in Pakistan & Afghanistan? What about Ahwadiyya in Pakistan?

His state had seen a massive protest against the CAA being led by none other than Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. During the rally, the CM had walked the streets along with hundreds of protesters.
After this, BJP working president J.P. Nadda led a protest in Kolkota in support of the Act.
He had said: “Muslims have flourished in our country, but Hindus have suffered torture in Pakistan. Pakistan is among the three countries from where non- Muslim minorities would be granted citizenship if they meet the criteria…” Nadda had said during the rally.
The chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Kerala too had said the NRC was impractical.
