Girl shot in Odisha, jilted love angle suspected
A girl student was injured after unidentified miscreants on a bike shot her near a private educational institute at the Infocity area of Bhubaneswar.
The girl who sustained bullet injuries is currently being treated at a hospital.
Reports said the pillion rider fired bullets at the girl while she was talking to a boy outside the institute. Locals rescued her and rushed her to a city hospital.
The shooting is being suspected as result of jilted love, reported Orissa Post. A report said the girl had allegedly refused the advances of a boy in the past and the latter shot at her in a bid to get back at her.
Infocity police is on the lookout for the miscreants.
Earlier in the day, a 25-year-old lecturer in Maharashtra’s Wardha district succumbed to her burn injuries, a week after she was set ablaze by a stalker.
Ankita Pissude, a resident of Hinganghat was set afire by one Vikesh Nagrale, on February 3 while she was going to college. The man had thrown petrol at her and set her on fire.
