IPL 2023 | RR vs GT highlights: Gujarat dominate with season's best

Gujarat Titans (GT) dominated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2023 match in Jaipur on Friday night (May 5).

It was one-way traffic at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium as GT won by nine wickets, comfortably chasing down 119.

Largest win of the season

The margin of victory – 9 wickets and 37 balls to spare, is the biggest of the season. The triumph ensured GT consolidated their position at the top of the table with 14 points from 10 matches.

Batting collapse

It was a dismal batting performance by RR after opting to bat first. None of their batters got going and the top score was 30 by captain Sanju Samson.

Fourth loss in five games

This was RR’s fourth defeat in the last five contests. They are fourth in the standings with 10 points from 10 matches.

Rashid spins a web

GT’s lead Afghan spinner Rashid Khan was the star of the match with 3/14 in 4 overs. He won the Player of the match award. Rashid’s compatriot Noor Ahmed too was impressive with 2/25 in 3 overs.

Hardik’s big hits

GT skipper Hardik Pandya, who walked out to bat at No. 3, was a man in a hurry. He smashed 39 not out off just 15 balls with three fours and three sixes. He hit three sixes and one four in one over off Adam Zampa. It was a 24-run over.
