Apart from topping the runs chart, Sooryavanshi was also declared the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. With this, he set a record, becoming the first player in IPL’s history to win Orange Cap and MVP honours in the same season. He also broke Chris Gayle's record for most sixes in an IPL. He hit 72 this year, going past Gayle's record of 59.
In total, Sooryavanshi won five awards on Sunday night and his earnings for the season were Rs 2.5 crore, including his salary of Rs 1.1 crore, which he was bought for by RR during the IPL 2025 auction, and was later retained this season for the same amount.
The total amount also includes his Player-of-the-match awards, honours like Electric Striker of the Match (Most Sixes of the Match) during IPL 2026.
After collecting the awards, Sooryavanshi said, “It feels nice, but there is pressure because I am doing interviews. It is a proud moment and I will try and do well next season too. I try to back my game and if the ball is there to be hit, I go all out for it and just try to play that way.”
