War of couplets: Have the Chinese infiltrated? Rahul asks Rajnath
A day after taking a poetic jibe at Union Home Minister Amit Shah on border issues, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday (June 9) directed his taunts at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, asking him if the Chinese have occupied the Indian territory at Ladakh.
“Once RM (Rajnath Singh) is done commenting on the hand symbol, can he answer: Have the Chinese occupied Indian territory in Ladakh,” Rahul tweeted, referring to the ongoing standoff between India and China at Ladakh.
“The media is muzzled and terrified. The truth seems dormant. But it flows in the blood of every single Indian army officer and soldier. They know exactly what is happening in Ladakh,” Rahul had said in another tweet.
His tweet was a rebuttal to Singh’s earlier dig at the Congress in which he used a parodied version of Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib’s lines, on Monday.
“Here’s Ghalib’s couplets in a different version. There are cures when the hand is in pain, but what is the cure when the hand is the pain,” he had tweeted in Hindi.

The “hand” is the Congress’ party symbol.
Earlier in the day, Rahul through a couplet, also inspired by Ghalib, had criticised the claims of Home Minister Amit Shah that India has a strong defence policy and knows how to protect its borders.

“Everyone knows what’s the reality at the border, but let’s keep the heart happy with this (Shah’s) thought,” he had tweeted.
