US Ambassador calls on Kerala Governor
US Ambassador to India Kenneth Ian Juster called on the Kerala Governor P Sathasivam at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram on March 28. During the interaction, which lasted 20 minutes, the Governor sought the possibility of being more liberal in issuing H-1B visas to engineers and IT professionals from Kerala, reports said.
Strengthening cooperation in tourism and creating more avenues for higher education in the US for students from the state also figured in the discussion. Juster expressed interest in Kerala inviting more investors from the United States. The Ambassador was accompanied by Robert Burgess, US Consul General in Chennai.
