Sonia Gandhi is COVID positive, will appear before ED: Congress

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for COVID-19 but will appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case.


Congress president Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for COVID-19 but will appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said on Thursday that Sonia Gandhi as been meeting leaders & activists over last week, some of whom have been found Covid positive.

She had a mild fever and symptoms last evening, and tested positive for Covid this morning. She has isolated herself under medical advice.

Surjewala said the Congress President will appear before ED on June 8. “We hope she will get better. We will get her tested again and her plan of visiting the ED stands.”

Sonia Gandhi was on Wednesday summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case to appear before it on June 8.
