PhD scholar found dead at Osmania university hostel; cops suspect suicide
The body of a 45-year-old former research scholar of the Osmania University was found on Monday (February 18) afternoon, the police said.
The victim, identified as Kompally Narsaiah, had completed his PhD in Geography from Osmania University. He was staying in a room at Yamuna hostel, where he was found lying on the ground by fellow students.
The police received an information and the team was immediately rushed to the spot. The body was recovered and sent to Gandhi Medical Hospital for post-mortem after which it was handed over to the deceased family.

In the preliminary investigation, the police suspect that the victim might have consumed poison to end his life. However, the cops did not find any suicide note.
“After the man was found lying unconscious, the students managed to open the door and found blood oozing from his nose. After the post-mortem, the doctor said he had consumed poison,” said the police.
Following the death, students staged a protest on the campus. They demanded justice and sought compensation and a government job for the family member of the victim. The students also collected ₹25,000 and handed over the money to the family for immediate assistance. They also claim that unemployment might be the reason.
