On hanging eve, Nirbhaya convict Pawan urges SC to review juvenility claim order
A day ahead of the scheduled hanging, Pawan Gupta, one of the four death row convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, on Friday (January 31) approached the Supreme Court, seeking review of its verdict which dismissed his plea claiming to be a juvenile at the time of the offence.
On January 20, the apex court had rejected the plea by Pawan who had challenged the Delhi High Court’s order dismissing his juvenility claim.
The fresh plea has been filed by advocate AP Singh, who who is representing Pawan in the case.

Public prosecutor Irfan Ahmed appearing for Tihar Jail says that only Vinay’s mercy plea is pending before the court and that the others can be hanged. He added that there is no illegality in it.
Multiple petitions have been filed by the four men in their attempts to stall their execution, set for February at 6 am.
The hangman arrived at Tihar Jail in Delhi on Thursday (January 30).
The 23-year-old paramedic student, referred to as Nirbhaya, was gang raped and brutally assaulted on the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012 in a moving bus in south Delhi by six people before being thrown out on the road. She died on December 29, 2012, at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.
