Mumbai youth lands ₹1.2 crore job at Google's London office
Abdullah Khan, 21-year old from Mumbai, has landed a job at Google’s office for a package of ₹1.2 crore. Khan, a non-IIT student, landed this job on the basis of a profile on a site that hosts competitive programming challenges, cites a Times of India report.
A student of LR Tiwari Engineering College, Mumbai, Khan was invited to the London office after several rounds of online interview. His six-figure package includes the base salary of ₹54.5 l lakh (£60,000) per annum, 15% bonus and stock options worth ₹58.9 lakh ($85,000) over four years. Khan will join Google this September upon completing his studies.
Khan’s recruitment comes as a testament to Google’s unorthodox hiring on the basis of skills over academic profile.
