Kangana to Jaya Bachchan: ‘What if it was Shweta or Abhishek?'
A sparring match began over BJP MP Ravi Kishan’s remarks on Bollywood’s drug links. It was Jaya Bachchan in Rajya Sabha who first targeted Kangana Ranaut on her “gutter” remark and then hit back at Kishan for tarring the entire Bollywood with the same brush. Now, it is Ranaut’s turn.
The outspoken actor asked Jaya Bachchan if she would say the same things if it was her daughter Shweta Bachchan or son Abhishek Bachchan who was affected.
“Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also. Folded hands,” said Ranaut in a tweet.

Ravi Kishan is a popular actor of Bhojpuri and Hindi films, and an MP from Uttar Pradesh. “Drug addiction is in the film industry too… Several people have been apprehended. The NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) has been doing very good work. I urge the Central government to take strict action against the culprits soon. Give them a befitting punishment and bring an end to this conspiracy by neighbouring countries,” Ravi Kishan said in the Lok Sabha.

Jaya Bachchan had moved a zero hour notice in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday to raise the issue of a conspiracy to “defame the film industry”. In a strong reaction, she also attacked Ravi Kishan who discussed the “drug menace in Bollywood” in the Lok Sabha on Monday. She also hit out at Kangana Ranaut, without naming her, and said it was a shame that people who earned their living from the industry are now calling it a “gutter”.
Ranaut had tweeted in July that “If Narcotics Control Bureau enters Bullywood, many A-listers will be behind bars, if blood tests are conducted many shocking revelations will happen. Hope @PMOIndia under swatchh Bharat mission cleanses the gutter called Bullywood.”
