Chennai connect will add great momentum to India-China ties: Modi

PM Modi on Saturday said he and Chinese President Xi Jinping "have been having productive deliberations" on improving bilateral ties, as the second informal meet between the two leaders concluded at nearby Mamallapuram.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (October 12) said he and Chinese President Xi Jinping “have been having productive deliberations” on improving bilateral ties, as the second informal meet between the two leaders concluded at nearby Mamallapuram.

Thanking the Chinese President for visiting India, he said the Chennai connect will “add great” momentum to bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister once again tweeted in English, Tamil and Mandarin to express his views.

On Friday too, he had tweeted in the three languages, to wish his second informal meet with Xi further strengthened bilateral ties as well as to welcome the Chinese leader to
India.

“Discussions continued with President Xi Jinping at Mamallapuram. We’ve been having productive deliberations on further improving India-China relations,” Modi said on
Saturday.

Modi also shared a couple of pictures with Jinping from today’s deliberations between them, besides that of delegation-level talks at Kovalam near here.

In another tweet, he said the second informal meet would benefit the people of the two countries and the world.

“I thank President Xi Jinping for coming to India for our second Informal Summit. The #ChennaiConnect will add great momentum to India-China relations. This will benefit the
people of our nations and the world,” he said.
