Centre’s zero-tolerance towards terrorism to continue: Amit Shah at CISF Raising Day Parade

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday (March 12) asserted that the NDA government has successfully handled security challenges in its nine-year tenure and its policy of zero-tolerance towards terrorism will continue in the times to come.

Speaking at the 54th Raising Day Parade of CISF in Hyderabad, Shah said separatism, terrorism and anti-national activities in any part of the country will be dealt with firmly.

Noting that NDA government has successfully tackled internal security challenges in the last nine years, the union minister affirmed that violence is coming down substantially in Kashmir, while insurgency in Northeast and Left Wing Extremism-affected areas has also reduced and the people’s confidence is increasing.

The number of people involved in terror activities is declining and many are laying down arms and joining the mainstream, he said.

In a first, the CISF is holding its annual Raising Day celebrations out of Delhi national capital region (NCR) at the CISF National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) at Hakimpet in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile during Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Hyderabad on Sunday, the ruling party of Telangana, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), erected a poster featuring the well-known ‘Washing Powder Nirma’ girl with a twist.

The welcome board contained doctored images of BJP leaders who had defected from other parties, such as Himanta Biswa Sarma, Narayan Rane, Suvendu Adhikari, Sujana Chowdhary, and Eshwarappa.

Amid the ongoing investigation of BRS MLC and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter, K Kavitha, in the Delhi liquor case, this poster was displayed in Hyderabad, criticising the BJP.
