BJP to hold countrywide stir on Nov 16 seeking Rahul’s apology on Rafale
In the aftermath of the Supreme Court asking Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to be careful in his utterances in the contempt case on Thursday (November 14), the BJP is scheduled to hold a countrywide workers programme on Saturday (November 16) seeking Rahul Gandhi’s apology for wrongly accusing the Prime Minister and his government.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Bhupender Yadav told reporters here that the Congress and Gandhi were “exposed” by the apex court’s verdict and they should now tender an apology.
He also mocked the Congress demand for a probe in the issue, noting that the court, in a unanimous verdict, rejected the petitions seeking a probe in the purchase of Rafale fighter aircraft and also quashed the pleas for a review of its order.

Slamming the Congress after the top court’s decision, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday had said the allegations of corruption were aimed at maligning Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded that the party apologise for it.
“The allegation of corruption in Rafale deal was nothing but an attempt to malign the clean and honest image of image of PM Narendra Modi and his Government. The people of India will not forgive the Congress for their slanderous campaign and calumny. The Congress should apologise for misleading the people,” he said.
BJP workers will hold nationwide protests at the district level, Yadav said, adding that the ruling party carried out a similar exercise in Delhi on Friday.
