BJP sends show-cause notice to MLA for assaulting govt official
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday (June 4) issued a show-cause notice to Indore-3 MLA Akash Vijayvargiya a week after he was jailed, and later released on bail, for thrashing a civic body official with a cricket bat.
This comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said such misbehaviour was unacceptable. In an apparent reference to the incident, he said “such arrogance and misbehaviour” cannot be tolerated.

The MLA, son of BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, was seen in a video last month assaulting a civic body official with a cricket bat in Indore. This week, Vijayvargiya was released on bail and was given a warm welcome by the local BJP unit.
Meanwhile, party sources said that state BJP chief Rakesh Singh has been holding talks with other state BJP leaders over the issue, and has already spoken to former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. No decision has been taken yet in this regard, he told reporters on Thursday.
