Bill Gates’ daughter Phoebe racially abused by trolls over picture

Bill Gates’ 19-year-old daughter Phoebe Gates faced racial abuse and trolling on social media after she shared a photo with an unnamed black young man kissing her on her cheek.

The image, which was first posted on July 6 on her Instagram account, was deleted later.

It had drawn strong racist abuse from trolls on social media who cracked jokes about them. From targeting the race of the two to the political standings, trolls took on even the once-richest man in the world, Bill Gates.

The identity of the young man has not been revealed and it is not clear if the two are dating.

Some users on Twitter however came in support of the two, assuming they were dating, and wished them and congratulated them while others just described them as “two beautiful people”.

Phoebe is the youngest daughter of Bill Gates and Melinda Gates, who married in 1994 and ended their 27 years of marriage last year.

Phoebe had recently made headlines when she showed off her body against the Roe versus Wade decision that was overturned by the US Supreme Court.

In an Instagram post she wrote, “I’m not shy about my body and/or telling you to keep your bans off of it. Every person deserves access to sexual and reproductive health care. Right now, the Supreme Court is prepared to end the constitutional right to abortion. Join me and millions of other women in our fight for this basic human right.”
