Raveesh Kumar, the spokesperson of the Union Ministry of External Affairs, will soon be replaced by Anurag Srivastava, the current Indian ambassador to Ethiopia and African Union, reports said.
An announcement in this regard is expected to be made on Friday (March 6).
Srivastava, a 1999-batch IFS officer, headed the finance division of MEA before his current posting. He also helmed the political wing at the Indian High Commission in Colombo.
He earlier served at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in Geneva.
Reports say Kumar, who was appointed as the MEA spokesperson in August 2017, meanwhile, will be given an ambassadorial posting in Europe.
