Actor Irrfan Khan admitted to Mumbai hospital ICU
Bollywood actor Irrfan is admitted to Kokilaben Dhribhai Amabani Hospital, Mumbai due to a colon infection and is under doctor’s observation at the intensive care unit (ICU). ANI reported the actor’s health suddenly deteriorated and needed immediate medical assistance. He is admitted to the hospital and is presently accompanied by his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, and his sons, Ayan and Babil Khan.
Further details on the 53-year-old actor’s health are awaited. Saeeda Begum, Irrfan Khan’s mother, died on April 25 in Jaipur. She was 95 years old. The actor was Mumbai and could not travel due to the current COVID-19 lockdown. He paid his last respects to his mother through video conference.

The actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in the year 2018. For his treatment, he flew to London in March 2018 and returned to India in the month of February 2019. After spending almost a year in London, the actor returned to shoot for his film Angrezi Medium in India. He again flew to London to continue the treatment and finally returned home in September 2019.

After being diagnosed with the tumour, Angrezi Medium is Irrfan’s first film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan. Irrfan is considered to be one of the most illustrous actors of the hindi film industry, having worked in films such as Maqbool, Haider, Piku. He has also worked in internally-acclaimed projects such as Life of Pi, The Namesake, Salaam Bombay, Inferno, and few others.
