3 bills introduced amid ruckus in both Houses of Parliament over Delhi riots
Amid the ruckus created by the Opposition in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, three bills were introduced in both the houses on Monday (March 2).
Opposition parties, including the Congress, DMK and TMC, raised slogans against the Centre over the violence that erupted in Northeast Delhi on February 23, killing at least 47 people.
MPs went into the area of treasury benches with a black banner, demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. At one point, members of BJP and Congress pushed and shoved each other.
As the uproar continued, Lok Sabha was adjourned thrice until 4.30 pm. However, the Lower House saw the introduction of two bills.

In Rajya Sabha too, Opposition members protested the violence in the national capital. They raised slogans like ‘Delhi is burning’, leading to adjournment of the House until 2 pm.
Three TMC members wore black bands on their eyes, resulting in Chairman Venkaiah Naidu ordering their removal from the House as such an act is not permitted.
Later, Naidu said the priority of the House should be ‘normalcy’ and only then would the issue be discussed.
Meanwhile, Union Minister for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank moved the Central Sanskrit Universities Bill, 2019, three months after its introduction in Lok Sabha.
