11 die as boat capsizes during Ganesh idol immersion in Bhopal
Almost 11 people died after their boat capsized in the river during the immersion of Ganesh idols near Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal in the early hours of Friday (September 13).
A report by Dainik Bhaskar said 19 people were aboard the boat. While five of them were rescued, two are still missing. Search operation is underway for the missing bodies, news agency ANI tweeted.

The dead were residents of the 100 Quarter locality. According to reports, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced that a compensation of ₹4 lakh will be given to the family of the dead.
“The incident is really unfortunate. A compensation of ₹4 lakh has been announced for the families of the deceased by the District Collector. Investigation will be done,” ANI quoted PR minister PC Sharma as saying.
