Eight injured as gunman opens fire at Mayfair mall in Wisconsin

A shooting incident at the Mayfair mall in Wisconsin, US on Friday resulted in at least eight injuries, multiple reports said, adding that the shooter, identified as a “white, male in his 20s or 30s”, is still at large.

Officers were on the scene at the mall in Wisconsin’s Wauwatosa and helped the local police in their “active” response to the incident, according to the FBI and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s office. In a statement, the Wauwatosa Police Department said that the shooter had escaped when emergency personnel arrived at the scene.

Seven adults and one teenager were among the injured but the seriousness of their injuries are not yet known, police said. However, reports quoted Wauwatosa Mayor Dennis McBride as telling reporters that their injuries aren’t life threatening.
