India vs Pakistan, World Cup: Shoaib Akhtar trolled, deletes ‘history shall repeat’ post
In the seven World Cup meetings between the two sides from 1992 to 2019, India have won all the matches.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was trolled on social media on Friday (October 13) for his post ahead of the India versus Pakistan ICC World Cup 2023 game.
With India and Pakistan set to face off at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Akhtar posted on X (formerly Twitter) a picture from his playing days and captioned it, “History shall repeat itself tomorrow.”
This post attracted Indian cricket fans’ attention and they started trolling Akhtar, reminding the “history” of the ODI World Cup between India and Pakistan.
In the seven World Cup meetings between the two sides from 1992 to 2019, India have won all the matches. The Indian cricket fans reminded this to Akhtar, who has 6.1 million followers on X.
As he was subjected to heavy trolling, Akhtar replied with another picture of him celebrating the dismissal of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar during a Test match. Still, the trolling did not end. Then, Akhtar was forced to delete his post.
