Pondy logs 46 new COVID-19 cases, tally touches 36,902

Puducherry on Saturday added 46more cases of coronavirus, taking the total infection count to36,902.

The toll remained 609 as no fresh fatality was reporteddue to the viral infection for ninth day in succession.

A release from Director of Health and Family Welfare SMohan Kumar saidthe new cases were detected at the end ofexamination of 2,904 samples during last 24 hours ending 10 amtoday, he said.

The fatality and recovery rates were 1.65 percent and96.94 percent respectively.

The Director said 41 patients were discharged afterrecovery from hospitals during last 24 hours.

Out of 36,902 cases, 519 were active and as many as35,774 patients recovered and were discharged so far.
