West Bengal Chief MinisterMamata Banerjee on Thursday claimed that the BJP is a party ofoutsiders which has no place in the state.
The Trinamool Congress supremo also said she willnever allow Bengal to be turned into a “riot-torn Gujarat”.
Wondering why Union Home Minister Amit Shah is so busywith elections even when the situation on the countrys borderis not good, Banerjee said she has never seen such a “homeminister in her career”.
“There is no place for outsiders in Bengal. Those whocome to the state only during elections and try to disturbpeace of the state are not at all welcome, she said whileaddressing a press conference here.
The BJP has recently divided the state into fiveorganisational zones and put central leaders in charge ofthem.
“They (BJP) are saying they will convert West Bengalinto Gujarat. Why do they want to turn our Bengal into ariot-torn place like Gujarat? We dont want riots,” she said.
Banerjee, without naming BJP national general secretaryKailash Vijayvargiya, accused him of trying to “fake hisarrest despite not being detained by the police” during aprotest march by the saffron party here.
