FIFA World Cup 2022 Golden Boot standings: Mbappe pips Messi to win


The Golden Boot award is presented to the player who scores the most goals at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. If there are more players with the same number of goals, the tie is broken by assists. If the assists too are equal, the tie is broken by the lowest number of minutes played.

France’s Kylian Mbappe won the Golden Boot award in Qatar. He finished on top with 8 goals, just one ahead of Lionel Messi.

Argentina edged defending champion France 4-2 on penalties (3-3 after extra time) in the final to win the World Cup at the Lusail Stadium in Al Daayen on Sunday night (December 18).
