Baaton Baaton Mein (1979)

It is one of those many Bollywood films that captured the lifeline of the city — the local train — to narrate a delightful story. Two people — both from Catholic families — meet on the train and are drawn to each other. But over-interfering mothers and a nosy relative spoil it for them, as they call their relationship off.

The movie is famous for its songs and riotous moments of laughter and can be enjoyed by streaming on YouTube.

Hum Tum (2004)

Two people who are poles apart have several hostile run-ins only to discover a beautiful friendship over a period of time. And they eventually find out that they love each other. However, while the woman refuses to accept love as a charity, the man is at loss of words to articulate his deep feelings for her.

Turning out to be a best friend to the trio, the story follows her escapades with them as the kids warm up to their uncle and detest his fiancée, an arrogant, and rich spoiled brat.

Jab We Met (2007)

A talkative, bubbly and energetic Punjabi woman takes home a rich man, who is coping with a recent heartbreak, after she meets him on the train. Desperate to break the alliance with a guy her parents choose for her, she runs away from her home to join her lover, leaving them to assume that she has eloped with the businessman.

The movie, which is available on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video, is known for some melodious numbers and the performances of lead actors Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor.

Band Baaja Baarat (2010)

As the name suggests, the story is set amid weddings, as two people get together to start their own business as wedding planners. Their only condition is that business shouldn’t be hindered by any unwanted relationship between them — love. However, what is forbidden is always tempting and do they even realise that?
