“Disney+ Hotstar rang in the New Year with fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, announcing the Feb. 1 streaming debut of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The movie will be available to stream in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam,” a press release said.
Plans were changed
Director Ryan Coogler recently revealed that the original plans for the movie were different before actor Chadwick Boseman’s untimely death in 2020.
“It was absolutely nothing like what we made,” he told New York Times. “It was, ‘What are we going to do about the Blip?’ [which saw T’Challa and others vanish for five years following the events of Infinity War]. It was going to be a father-son story. In the script, T’Challa was a dad who’d had this forced five-year absence from his son’s life.”
Critical Acclaim
The Marvel hit has been critically acclaimed on the big screen and has minted over $820 million in theatres worldwide, with a $180 million bumper opening weekend in the US alone.
