India’s COVID-19 vaccination drive has proved to be the most efficient and rapid in the world with the country reaching the 40 lakh mark in just a matter of 18 days.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) stated on Wednesday (February 3) that India was among the top five countries in terms of the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered to people.

Meanwhile, Union Health Ministry data shows the country’s COVID-19 tally rose to 1,07,77,284 with 11,039 fresh cases reported in 24 hours till 8am on Wednesday. The recoveries surged to 1,04,62,631.
The death count stands at 1,54,596 with 110 more succumbing to the disease in 24 hours till 8 am on Wednesday. The count of people who have recovered is 1,04,62,631 — which translate into a recovery rate of 97.08 per cent. The number of active cases is below 2 lakh.

Kerala has reported the highest daily new cases at 5,716, followed by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu with 1,927and 510 new cases, respectively.
The Union Health Ministry stated that Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Puducherry, Goa, Odisha and Assam have not reported a single death on Tuesday.
