Covid-19: Tamil Nadu records 5,879 fresh cases, 99 deaths
With 5,879 new Covid-19 cases, Tamil Nadu reported a slight dip in daily infections on Saturday. As many 4,034 new deaths were recorded across the state. Counting these in, the state's tally now stands at 2,51,738 cases and 99 deaths, said the health bulletin.

As many as 7,010 previously-infected patients were discharged on Saturday, taking the cumulative recoveries to 1,90,27.
Chennai recorded 1,074 fresh cases, surpassing a grim milestone of one lakh mark to touch 1,00,877.
On Thursday, Tamil Nadu reported 5,864 new cases while on Friday it was 5,881 new infections.
